It would have to embed into the DNA in order for it to be a genetic transfer. I can think of several incidents to show the information does transfer but have not seen anyone explain how it happens. We know that scientists have recorded Dr. Martin Luther King's speech (I Have A Dream) onto a strand of DNA and played that information back. We know instances of organ transplants where information only the donor is aware is transferred to the recipient. We know of instances of people suddenly speaking and understanding a language they have never learned. These could indicate that DNA is capable of recording and transferring that information to someone else. (ie procreation, or physical transfer of one person's DNA to another person)
