Dont blame the children, blame the parents for raising their kids that way.

If anything, 4H results in our youth caring more about animals and their needs. It causes our youth to be more connected to the reality of the food industry. They are more apt to treat animals kinder as a result of their participation in 4H.

...you miss the whole point. NO The reality of it is if you want to eat meat you have to kill animals ....maybe I didn't make myself clear. I'm refering to a 4H youngster who raises a farm animal (bonding with that animal), and then having to take it to auction to be slaughtered. Surely this has to have a lasting emotional effect on a child.

Why does the child have to even know its being slaughtered? I dont believe the 4H adult leaders even tell those kids that.
