Mailman comes to door.
little girl opens door.
40 pound dog lurches out the door as the mailman is leaving.
little girl chases dog and grabs his hind legs as dog continues to chase mailman.
mailman seeing he is going to be attacked by dog pepper sprays the dog.
oops, missed the dog and got the girl.
girl runs back to the house, dog leaves mailman alone.
Dad got upset and demands the mailman be fired.
I say dog lurching out of house was an accident. I say girl being pepper sprayed was an accident. I say it was an unfortunate situation and that the little girl was doing her best and did not deserve to be pepper sprayed, but neither did the mailman deserve to be put in fear of being bit by dog. I say Dad needs to forget it and keep better control of his dog. It is not as if that was the first time mail was delivered to his house. I am certain that the dog made a bunch of noise every time the mailman came to the house. He should be thankful that it only resulted in a little pepper spray. If the dog would have actually bitten the mailman then dad would be paying thousands to address the situation.
