....he has some valid points, I'd rather be armed, than hiding under something awaiting my turn to be executed. The reason we don't have mass shooting in florida is probably because half the people in the state are walking around with CCW permits. Having said that, gun show loopholes that allow guns to fall into the wrong hands, definitely need to be addressed.

And yet they have some of the states highest crime rates. More guns do NOT equal less violence, period.

And more carry permits doesn't mean more people are carrying guns. Both Wright and Kleck said surveys of gun owners show that people who obtain carry permits would have been packing heat regardless, usually in a car glove box. "People who get carry permits are people who would carry anyway," Kleck said. "Now they can carry legally."

.....the whole idea is to keep guns from falling into the wrong hands. Here in florida, recent gun shop and pawn shop burglaries have resulted in numerous stolen high powered weapons still on the street, also several assault rifles and high powered hand guns have been stolen from "take home" police vehicles, including a high capacity Sig Sauer belonging to former police Chief Val Demings......and no one seems to be addressing these problems.

So you're for arming teachers .....they armed "properly trained" pilots and added more Air Marshalls after 911 didn't they. |

There was also an armed guard or 2 at Columbine High School wasnt there?
Where 12 students and one teacher were killed in 1999.
Deputy Neil Gardner was a 15-year veteran of the Jefferson County, Colo., Sheriff’s Office assigned as the uniformed officer at Columbine. According to an account compiled by the police department, Gardner fired on Harris but was unsuccessful in stopping him:
Gardner, seeing Harris working with his gun, leaned over the top of the car and fired four shots. He was 60 yards from the gunman. Harris spun hard to the right and Gardner momentarily thought he had hit him. Seconds later, Harris began shooting again at the deputy.
After the exchange of gunfire, Harris ran back into the building. Gardner was able to get on the police radio and called for assistance from other Sheriff’s units. "Shots in the building. I need someone in the south lot with me."
The second officer was Deputy Paul Smoker, a motorcycle patrolman who was near the school writing a speeding ticket. When he heard a dispatch of a woman injured at the high school, he responded. He, too, fired at Harris but didn't stop him.

.....it's not just adding a cop to schools or arming the occasional teacher, airline security not only armed pilots, they also reinforced cockpit doors. Schools in high crime major metropolitan areas in the N.E. have only one entrance/exit, equipped with a medal detector and armed guard. The Criminal Justice building in Miami has been set up like this for years, and security has never been breached. It's not rocket science Davey.
