Will the new changes which add numerous .domains be popular? Amazon and other big name players bought out the ones specific to their products ie. Amazon bought the .books one along with a lot of other ones. By purchasing .book will Amazon allow others to use the .book ending or will they simply freeze out the competition from using the .book domain, thereby leaving the rest to use the old standby of .com. How many people are really interested in trying to remember the hundreds of additions to the address? .org, .net, and .com are enough to keep track of. Can you imagine trying to remember whether it is a .book, .dress, .shirt, .food, .groceries, .junk, .jokes, .etc? The list is now endless.
I think it will be slow in catching on with the public.
