Have any of you gotten out on a paddle board yet? I took my first spin on one a couple weeks back -- outstanding!

Have any of you gotten out on a paddle board yet? I took my first spin on one a couple weeks back -- outstanding! I've done it before when I lived in that area. Where I live now there are very few lakes, and we're far from the beaches. I still have my kayaks and get in the lakes every so often, but it's tough since most of the water has dried up due to drought. That leaves less water area for the gators. And there are a bunch of them. Was at a lake last weekend and counted 14 of them. I still do a lot more cycling than anything else.

At this point I think I'm going to rent a board at least a couple more times before deciding if I want to add one to "the fleet" (that being 3 single kayaks at the moment). I really REALLY liked the workout I got from it on my first excursion - felt like my core and my balance were constantly being worked. It seems like at least once a month I'm borrowing 1 or 2 extra boats to take a few additional friends out on the water, so the 'demand' is there. Plus, I've talk to a few middle-ahhh..ummmm.... 'seasoned' guys who use them in the ocean to catch waves that even the longboarders can't catch, so the surfer in me is ready to get one.
